One of the vital stream of VISA any skilled international participant must know about is the Skills in Demand (subclass 482) VISA that enables an employer to source qualified international candidates to fill in specific job positions in case the employers struggle to find an appropriately skilled Australian citizen to fill in the same. One of the stream type are the Core Skills Stream and Specialist Skills Stream that enables Australian employers to address labor shortages (recorded in skilled occupation lists), i.e. take in skilled workers when the employers are unable to source a befittingly skilled Australian worker. To add, in case of the Specialist Skills Stream; the occupation should have been listed in Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) and the nominated salary for the designation should meet the margin of Specialist Skills Income.

Labor agreement stream is another type of VISA stream for skilled workers nominated by employers in accordance with the Australian government who have a Labor Agreement. Any individual applying for the same will have the privilege to temporarily live and work in Australia. The VISA costs for all these streams amounts to AUD$ 3,115 and will allow an individual to stay up to 4 years while a Hong Kong national can stay up to 5 years.

Subsequent entrant, on the other hand, is for family members of subclass 457 and subclass 482 visa holders who are applying separately for their Skills in Demand (SID) visa and aim to join the primary subclass 457 or subclass 482 visa holder in Australia. The stay is as long as the VISA is valid.
