For those of you who did not know, you can expect to discover 50 + departments, Programs, centers, and institutes affiliated with the krieger school of art & Science. What is more fascinating is that the department of Natural Sciences operates unique programs as the biophysics, behavioral biology, and Molecular Biophysics including operating some of the notable affiliated Research Centers and institutes.
There is the Center for Astrophysical Sciences (CAS) within the William H. Miller III Department Of Physics and ASTRONOMY at JHU focusing on research across range of Astrophysics, from Cosmology: to galactic structure to planets. Some of the CAS astronomers are also a good part of a cooperative program within NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt Maryland, providing unparalleled opportunities in high energy ASTRONOMY, infrared astronomy, including space instrumentation.
The Institute for Quantum Matter (IQM), on the other hand, is an Energy Frontier research center and is leading a revolutionary Research in areas of quantum materials and structures; exposing, understanding and controlling corresponding physical properties and exploring their potential for energy-related applications.
Now, the Center for Molecular Biophysics (CMB), is another eminent affiliated center generously contributing state-of-the art solution biophysics instrumentation. CMB’s objective is to provide resources and intellectual environment to accelerate biophysical research, both for biophysically oriented laboratories, and for those laboratories whose research has not traditionally involved structural or biophysical characterization.
