If an applicant wants to take on an approved full-time English language course in New Zealand, then he/ she can apply for the English Language Student VISA. The candidate, however, will need to be accepted and be enrolled with an approved education provider, have adequate finances to cover the full costs of their course and living expenses, as well possess full travel and medical insurance for their stay in New Zealand. Depending on the VISA conditions, the visa lets the candidate work full-time during the holidays and 25 hours part-time work per week. The length of stay can be taken for up to a maximum of 4 years and lets one travel in and out of New Zealand until the VISA expires.
A proof of identity, photo, a genuine letter of intent, medical examination and a police certificate are some of other core documents that must be included in the application.
When one arrives in New Zealand, one must also complete a New Zealand Traveler Declaration (NZTD) properly indicating the whereabouts about one’s travel, including customs, immigration, and bio security details. NZTD submission generally depends on how one is traveling i.e. if the travel is by air than NZTD can be submitted 24 hours before ones journey begins, and 24 hours before one’s ship leaves its last overseas port heading to New Zealand if the travel happens to have by the sea. Individuals possessing an NZeTA can specify their declaration that the application for a visa is done on arrival.
While in New Zealand, one must keep in mind, that he/ she who has a job in New Zealand is ought to pay tax on what they earn and for that an Inland Revenue Department (IRD) number from Inland Revenue (the New Zealand Government department) is needed, which, of course is a sole authorized entity to collect tax.
