Some core documents not to be missed while applying for an Express Entry program in Canada

  • Passport or a travel document which should have at 6 months of dates available before the expiration date.
  • Language test results i.e. CELPIP: Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program, IELTS: International English Language Testing System, Pearson Test of English, TEF Canada: Test d’évaluation de français or TCF Canada: Test de connaissance du français. Measurement of English and French levels are done by Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) and Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadien (NCLC) respectively.
  • Proof of Canadian education or an educational credential assessment report (a method of assessment used to verify one’s foreign degree, diploma or a certificate is a valid one and its equivalence with a Canadian education) for immigration purposes and this applies to anyone who is applying through the Federal Skilled Workers Program, or wants to get points for the education the candidate has received outside of Canada.
  • Written job offer from an employer in Canada. This includes proof of work experience (such as a reference or experience letter from an employer) and certificate of qualification in a trade occupation issued by a Canadian province or territory (if a candidate possess one).
  • Proof of funds i.e. at least $15,623 for one person, $19,001 for two and $23,630 for 3 persons which should be in the form of official letters from authorized banks or financial institutions.
  • Police certificates.
  • Provincial nomination (if one has applied for the Provincial Nominee Program).
