Diploma programs are generally required to have an IELTS of 6.0 with no bands less than 5.5 with a 1 year tuition cost generally coming at AUD$15,285. Diploma in Nursing, however, requires to have an IELTS of overall and each band 7.0 and taking the qualification at TAFE SA comes along with a wonderful opportunity to work for at least 400 hours of clinical placement in a healthcare setting.

Various short courses, online courses, apprenticeships, traineeships and packaged pathways to university are also available generally leading to a Bachelor degree either at Adelaide University, University of South Australia or Flinders University. In addition, credit transfers are also available to ensure one’s TAFE SA studies are recognized as being equivalent in content and level to parts of other education programs, including university degrees.

Acceptance into a program / full offer can also be retrieved by forecasted as in provisional results (*conditions involved). Specifically, International Baccalaureate (IB) students can show their Mid-Semester Report (Term 3) with the school stamp and signature from IB Diploma Coordinator to get into the relevant program at TAFE SA.

There are circumstances where the requirements for IELTS may be waived provided a student can show that they within the last two years have completed their Year 12 or above in a CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) registered course delivered in Australia; have completed within the last two years, a secondary or tertiary level course studies in an English speaking country where the primary medium of instruction in English or if mandated grades are achieved in English and other subjects in their previous qualification as specified by the TAFE SA courses.

Long term scholarship awards are generally available in the form of Australia Awards administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade benefitting the student in areas covering full tuition fees, living expenses, establishment allowance, OSHC- Overseas Student Health Cover, return air travel, fieldwork supplementary academic support or Pre-course English (PCE) fees.
