Spain (Kingdom of Spain) is the largest country in Southern Europe with higher education in public universities mostly supported by funding through the state. A study visa is something that should be mandatorily issued for studies, trainings, volunteer works or internships for a period exceeding above 90 days. A visa application form is generally required as a major part of the documentation. Other major documents includes an acceptance letter granted by the institution indicating the accredited full time studies one has undertake and that should lead to a higher educational qualification; adequate financial resources to cover up the total stay in Spain including the evidences of costs for return- all evidences should be supplied in the form of bank statements; mandated proof of tuition fees paid and fluency of knowledge of language the student has undertaken to study the relevant program in Spain.
A valid travel document, health insurance, criminal record check certificate and application fee for residence permit are other documents which are equally required to file a VISA. A proof of residence in the consular district i.e. an I.D. Card that proves ones place of residence is within the jurisdiction of the Spanish Consulate of Los Angeles (original and photocopy) will also be required as a part of the application process.
The duration of the study stay permit is generally equal to the length of the course and can be extended annually given the conditions that the student is able to satisfy the original requirements of the first study permit.
After the completion of studies, one will have the opportunity to apply for a job searching residence permit which will be valid for 12-months. If one has acquired a job offer and the employer has filed the application for a work permit then it will be possible to be employed after studies. One should also have to show the proof of having to live in Spain for three years under a student permit. A minimum period of residence in Spain, however, will not be required if one can find a job as a highly-qualified professional or start up a business.
