What to know if one is intending to explore Liechtenstein for a study permit VISA?

Considered Europe’s 4th smallest country, Liechtenstein, is a German-speaking country situated in between Austria and Switzerland. It is one of a few countries with no debt and has its strong financial sector centered in the capital of Vaduz. With population in just thousands, Liechtenstein, is indeed a strong economy country with efficient industries and strong services sector offering varied job opportunities making it an attractive place for foreigners. Not to forget, the country is mountainous, which makes it an equally appealing place for a winter sport destination.

The literacy rate of the country is 100% and education similar to the Swiss education system. One of the popular research led university is the University of Liechtenstein, a national university located in the capital Vaduz with it’s areas of teaching and study mainly focused on architecture and business economics (finance, entrepreneurship, business law, information systems). The study programs at the University are structured as per the bachelor’s-master’s-doctorate system recognized worldwide in accordance with the Bologna Process. Research at the University of Liechtenstein is reputed for its innovative ideas and cutting- edge inventions that contributes for the sustainable society.

Now, if any international student is intending to pursue University of Liechtenstein for their study, he/ she needs to acquire a VISA for the study. As a part of the university application process, a student also needs to supply the evidence of English certificate preferably a level of upper intermediate Level B2 (+) and evidences of finances covering the cost of living which generally comes at generally 1,200 to 1,500 CHF per month and tuition fees of CHF 1,250. As a student, one will be allowed to work for up to 35% of the term time and full time during the holidays. As a good majority of the population in the country speaks German, most employers look for candidates with a good level of knowledge of German language. Application for the processing of residence permit requires a deposit of CHF 3,000.
