Information on Working in Lithuania as a seasonal or a posted worker

Finding a job is comparatively easy with working conditions flexible and high work life balance. The country is currently emerging as a popular destination choice for job seekers because of its flourishing economy, ranked digital infrastructure and happiness.

Now working in Lithuania is also possible as a seasonal or a posted worker by obtaining a national VISA. A seasonal work permit is generally issued by the Employment Service for more than 90 days. Temporary residence permit (renewable and is generally issued for a period of two years and 3 years for highly qualified workers) should, however, be opted for other cases. One must also keep in mind that if one ought to get a national VISA for a seasonal work, then the individual, in case the total period exceeds 90 days, should also have an extended seasonal work permit or should have applied for a new / an extended seasonal work permit. One also has to remember that the application should be submitted 1.5 to 3 months in advance before the expiry of the actual national visa. Digital application requires the attachment of essential documents as a valid travel document issued within the last ten years; evidence of valid health insurance with coverage of at least 30,000 Euros applicable in Lithuania including all Schengen countries; adequate finances for sustenance to live in Lithuania which is normally a subsistence amount i.e. 1 minimum monthly salary per month (*conditions / documents involved as per the need and mentioned by the immigration authority) and application fee. The most prominent part that the application requires is a mediation letter which needs to be submitted by the employer via the Lithuanian Migration Information System (MIGRIS) and the payment of stamp duty that comes along with it.
