University of Copenhagen, a world recognized public research university located in Copenhagen, Denmark, is the oldest university in Denmark and the second oldest in Scandinavia; and is exclusively known to be the best university in Denmark. All Bachelor programs at the University of Copenhagen are taught in Danish language. So any international student opting for the either a Bachelor or a Master’s degree taught in Danish language are required to provide Danish language test to prove their eligibility into the relevant programs they are intending to enroll. International students can obtain Danish language qualifications (country exceptions applied as per the university website) by either: passing the Study Exam (SP), in Danish- ‘Studieprøven i dansk’, which consists of the written and oral part test, the test can be given to demonstrate one has an advanced Danish language skills to efficiently read, write and communicate orally or the know- how can be demonstrated by passing a supplementary upper course in Danish A. Application deadline for Bachelor programs normally is before the 15th March of any year.
A good number of Masters program are taught in English. For study that starts in February, application deadline is the 1st of September of the previous year and for the study that starts in September intake, application is to be sent by January of the same year. The application fee is DKK 750 (EUR 100). Tuition fees for programs at the university generally ranges from EUR 10,000 to 17,000 per 60 ECTS (one academic year).
PhD programs at the University of Copenhagen are 6 in number i.e. programs are available for 6 faculties – Health and Medical Sciences, Law, Social Sciences, Humanities, Science and Theology, and fees are generally payable to students as they will be studying as researchers. Doctoral scholarships are also reserved for students dealing with impactful research projects and research assignments, and these scholarships are awarded by research councils, public bodies or private foundations. In addition, as a recipient of scholarship, students will also have the privilege to work 6 months (840 hours) over the course of 3 years.
