Family Members (a Spouse, registered partner or a child under the age of 18) can apply for a residence permit based on the Student‘s status in Finland. The major requirement that needs to be fulfilled is the financial evidence of Living expenses per year.

Based on the grounds of family ties, once a residence permit is issued to a dependent, one will have an opportunity of unrestricted Right to Work and study in Finland. On fulfilling the conditions, an individual can also get a municipality of residence if he/ she applies for it at the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. This can further help to avail public healthcare services. A permanent residence permit can be applied when the dependent have lived in Finland for four years.
