The birthplace of Red Cross, including being headquarters of major international institutions as the World Health Organization (WHO), World Trade Organization – WTO, ILO (International Labor Organization), the United Nations and the FIFA (Fédération internationale de football association), Switzerland, is considered one of the most developed countries not only in terms of GDP, but as well in terms of quality of life.
The education is diverse with rigorous curricula and high quality of education; hence, many prominent scientists have emerged retrieving the Nobel prize. In fact, Switzerland is known to contain the world’s largest particle physics laboratory- CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) making it one of the best countries to study branches of physics and Science.
For stay above 90 days- National D Visa is required.
Apart from the general identity and educational documents used to apply for a study VISA, one should keep in mind that one must make an appointment immediately after receiving admission letter from respective school/ university the applicant has applied for in Switzerland. Application can be submitted as early as 6 months prior to studying in Switzerland but no later than ten (10) weeks prior to the date of departure.
Major documents required to apply for a study VISA
· D VISA Application Forms– 3 in numbers
· A written explanation of family’s financial capacity/ financial guarantee form
· Bank statements of minimum 3 months (preferable 12 months) along with TDS clearance
· VISA fee
· Evidence of sufficient financial means-CHF 21,000.00 (minimum) available in one’s own account
· 50 to 100 CHF for Visa Application– paid to embassy
