Some of the branches of Biochemistry you probably have heard but inquisitive to know more about;

By

Neurochemistry– involves the study of organic molecules involved in neuronal activity aka all about neurotransmitters or other molecules influencing neuronal function.

Biochemical Genetics– the study explores ways in which genes function in biological processes.

Chemical Ecology– involves the study of biologically originated chemical compounds involving interactions with living organisms.

Xenobiotics– involves the study of metabolic behavior of compounds in a given organism having improper chemical structure

Chemotaxonomy– involves the study of classification and identification of bodies as per their demonstrable similarities or differences in chemical composition.

Although the above degree specializations are rarely offered, there are some universities like Stockholm University which offers Masters in Neurochemistry, Stevens Institute of Technology which offers a relevant program in Chemistry and Chemical Biology, University of Manitoba which offers program in Medical Genetics or Wayne State University which offers program in Applied Pharmacology and Environmental Xenobiotics
