Know the basics to apply to the reputed Ivy League Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States

I.) Application filling and submission can be done through the Common Application (opening date 1st August) or the Coalition Application (opening date 15th August) – Powered by SCOIR.

II.) Paying the Application Fees (85$) after the confirmation Email has been sent by the university. If the admissions application fee tends to present any sort of hardship to a student, then he/ she can apply for a financial aid to get the fee waived.

III.) Harvard College Questions for the Common Application, or Coalition Application Harvard supplement. There are five required short-answer questions with 200 word limits for each;

1. Harvard has long recognized the importance of enrolling a diverse student body. How will the life experiences that shape who you are today enable you to contribute to Harvard?
2. Briefly describe an intellectual experience that was important to you.
3. Briefly describe any of your extracurricular activities, employment experience, travel, or family responsibilities that have shaped who you are.
4. How do you hope to use your Harvard Higher Education in the future?
5. Top 3 things your roommates might like to know about you.


IV.) An overview of the student’s academic record i.e. the applicant’s academic transcript(s), a letter of recommendation, and a school profile (if available).

V.) Completion of the Teacher Recommendation forms (includes an evaluation form and a letter of recommendation). If one wishes to submit additional letters of recommendation, one can do so even after the submission of application. In application confirmation email, there will be a personalized link to send the recommenders.

VI.) SAT or ACT. In exceptional cases if these tests are not accessible, one of the following can meet the requirement:
· AP exam results
· IB Actual or Predicted Scores
· GCSE/A-Level Actual or Predicted Results
· National Leaving Exams Results or Predictions


VII.) Supplementary materials (if any) such as music recordings, artwork, or selected samples of academic work may be evaluated by faculty. These materials are entirely optional, however, this gives an opportunity to best represent the student.
