If an individual is intending to apply for a student VISA for any undergraduate or a postgraduate course, the financial evidences should include full first year tuition fees (as per the indicated course fees) and £1,483 per month living expenses to support oneself on a course inside London (the City of London and the 32 London boroughs). Likewise full first year tuition fees (as per the indicated course fees) and £1,136 per month living expenses outside London.
Partner and children (‘dependents’) may be able to apply to come to the United kingdom or stay longer in the UK if the student has applied for a PhD, other doctoral degree (RQF level or a research-based higher degree. Evidentiary documents include a marriage or a civil partnership certificate for the partner and a birth certificate for the accompanying child only under 18 years old. Further, confirmation or proof of address in the form of documents on either bank statements, credit card bills, driving license, NHS registration document, or an official letter from the university or college is also required to prove the genuity of the same.
Switching to a Student Visa
One may be able to switch to a Student Visa if one already has a permission to be in the United Kingdom. However, an individual cannot switch on the student VISA; if that individual has one of the following visas:
• a visit visa
• a short-term student visa
• a parent of a child student visa
• a seasonal worker visa
• a domestic worker in a private household visa
• leave outside the immigration rules
